本種は全北区に広く分布する。寄主植物はイネ科。日本では琉球列島 を除く全国に分布する。頭部が細長く、前方に突出することで他種と識別できる。

This species is widely distributed in the northern hemisphere. It breeds on Poaceae. In Japan, it is widespread other than the Ryukyu Islands . It can be distinguished from other species by the head elongate and slightly prolonged anteriorly.
